Kano is the leader of the Black Dragons he killed Sonya Blade's partner. While supervising the shipment of stolen robotics his men captured Sonya Blade, who was recording the operation. Two days later Kano transmitted the recording to the Decon City P.D. in order to lure them into an ambush. After the S.W.A.T team arrived his men attacked with high tech energy weapons. During the assault Kano ran into Jax and the two fought, Jax eventually won the fight finishing him with a punch that took his eye out and crushed the socket. His men were able to get to him and took him to a doctor who replaced the eye and socket with a cybernetic implant.
